Sunday, March 27th, 2011I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications and an advanced degree in screenwriting. I work on movie sets as a lighting technician. It is an overwhelmingly liberal business, and like it or not, that colors the product put out by these people. Good intentions about being fair and unbiased are just that – good intentions. They don’t exist because by the nature of a point of view held by a creator, they simply can’t. It’s biologically impossible to ignore your own thoughts and experiences when creating material such as that in the media. I hear every day about how there’s no liberal slant in the media and it’s really frustrating to me. Are rank and file liberals trying to deny the slant in an effort to cover it up, or are they just that clueless about its existence? It’s one or the other. Which is it?
For someone with a “degree in Journalism”, your punctuation skills really suck.
–The comma goes before the closed parentheses. Now, can you point out instances in the above in which my punctuation is incorrect?

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011Families have medical PROOF, of assault injuries o their loved ones, file complaints for years, but the DHS, Equip For Equality, O.I.G., HRA and others, has NOT given this ABUSE issue at Chester Mental Health Center, enough EXPOSURE.
I’ve heard news of rapes in OTHER countries even, ALL the time, on the NEWS channels, but NOTHING, is EVER mentioned about Chester.
A patient was beaten to DEATH there, on January 11, 2011 and NO NEWS station, has even mentioned it.
Jackie McPherson(journalist for Chester News), is ALSO an employee for CMHC, so it’s NOT likely, that she would care enough to get it told, on the news.
PLEASE HELP, for my lovedone has been threatened by a CHRIS ROBINSON, who has put others, up to causing harm to him.
Chris, has even threatened to “have my wife’s sister, beat your sister ELois up, the next time she come to visit you”.
I have filed a complaint with the Head administrator(Patricia Kelly)(the asst. admin., David Dunker, is ALSO aware of these threats on our lives).
Chris has threatened to have my lovedone FALSE accused of something, in an attempt to have him transferred to this UNIT(B3), where the patient was murdered, by way of being BEATEN with a CHAIR, which is the SAME thing he threatened to have done to my lovedone and also have his EYE put out.
The adminstration there, is turning the other cheek and pretendingt that they aren’t aware of these guards and their ill behaviors(which has been in existance for MANY, MANY YEARS, at CMHC)!
HELP IS BADLY NEEDED, FOR THE PATIENTS THERE.
Some speaks out, but others, are afraid out of MORE fear, that MORE harm, will come to them.
This CHRIS, has even told my brother that, “If I loose my job, I’m going to kill your ass”.
One evening he wanted to apologize, but I paid CLOSE ATTENTION(for I suspected that he was againd being phony;trying to shield his state job) and the VERY NEXT WEEK, he HARRASSED him AGAIN, while I, was ON THE PHONE SPEAKING WITH MY LOVEDONE!
The phoniness, is as OBVIOUS as seeing through a clear glass window!
PLEASE INFORM PEOPLE OF AUTHORITY(Human Right Advocates), of this facility.

Sunday, March 20th, 2011Simon Lewis is a tropical forest researcher who was contacted by many journalists as an expert when ‘Amazongate’ was all the rage. One of these journalists was the Sunday Times’ Jonathan Leake, who interviewed Lewis, read him what was supposed to be the final article over the phone, and then proceeded to completely re-write the article and grossly misrepresent Lewis’ statements and opinions. This horrendous article was reproduced over 20,000 times on the internet within a few weeks.
Simon Lewis fought back by filing an official complaint to the UK Press Complaints Commission. He contacted The Guardian newspaper and Climate Progress blog, which published an article about his complaint and misrepresentation. Soon the NY Times featured Lewis in a front-page article. Eventually the Sunday Times admitted fault, removed the article from its website, and replaced it with a formal correction and apology, also printed prominently in the newspaper.
This sort of misrepresentation of climate science has become all too common in today’s mainstream media. Lewis has written an article for Nature about ‘how to beat the media in the climate street fight.’ Lewis concludes as follows.
“What lessons are there for scientists in politically charged areas who find themselves in a similar position? Do your research. What is the reporter’s track record? Anticipate that every sentence you say or write may be dissected and interpreted in the least charitable manner possible. And if things go wrong, seek advice from public-relations experts, and where necessary, media lawyers. In my experience, science-media professionals are almost as lost as scientists themselves, when dealing with topics as emotive as climate change.
The media dictate what most people know about contemporary scientific debates. Given the need for informed policy, scientists need to learn to better read and engage with this media landscape. Closing the newspaper with a sigh is not enough.”
